VIVATECH THE WORLD’S RENDEZ-VOUS FOR STARTUPS & LEADERS

VivaTech the new technology show makes its great return in Paris, Porte de Versaille for a third edition. VivaTech is the worldwide rendez-vous of startups and innovations, dedicated for startups growth, digital transformation, and innovation.  The show will start on the 24 until the 26 of May.

VIVATECH, BUSINESS BOOSTER: WITH AND FOR STARTUPS

Around 68 000 visitors were at the last edition of VivaTech. This year show will reunite startups, business executives and senior managers, investors, students, and journalism from all around the world.

In the program: 2 professionals days and a day for the large public. 1000 startups, 23 labs and one dedicated to Africa, 100 thematics challenges, 1 VivaTour, 8 conferences cycle including 300 speakers which will talk about Artificial Intelligence or augmented man. Among these speakers, some of the biggest players of tech such as Bill McDermott, Director of SAP, Ginni Romney, CEO of IBM, Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco and Stephane Richard President and CEO of Orange. Indeed, one of the main messages of VivaTech is to encourage collaboration between startups and big groups.

 

AFRIC@TECH, THE LAB DEDICATED TO AFRICANS STARTUPS

During a press conference summit held on last February, the organizers highlighted the potential innovation in Africa. Indeed, Africans startups will be honored in the thus third edition of VivaTech, welcoming in Paris some of the 100 rising Africans startups (Maroc, Kenya, Tunisia, South Africa) in a dedicated zone named Afric@tech with countries areas, challenge, specified conferences cycles. “We have to give innovators (of the African continent) the possibility to express themselves,” says Maurice Levy, former CEO of Publicis and co-founder of VivaTech. Indeed the show is a bridge between big groups, big players and thousands of young professionals that will have the opportunity to find new partners and investors from across the world and above all gain visibility. Africa has all the potential to become the next crossroad of world innovation, with 300 innovations centers in its 54 countries. But first, they are many challenges to face, precise Grégoire Lander, founder of CityTaps: make the policy framework more stable, develop a telecom network, educate the entire populations, including women, invest in small and growing companies.

 

VIVATECH WANTS TO COMPETE WITH LAS VEGAS CES

Google, Orange, La Poste, BNP Paribas, will be the large corporations presents during this edition of VivaTech. The principal mission of the organizers is to make VivaTech the biggest European show dedicated to innovation with more than thirty countries invited to present their young innovators. But VivaTech is also the opportunity for startups to speech on various subjects such as Samsung with the IA, Volkswagen and the futur of mobility or Total – Vinci Energies and the blockchain in Africa.

Furthermore, it’s the occasion for startups, CEO, founder, investors and leaders from all around the world to invest, collaborate and exchange ideas with a global community. The show’s organizers, Publicis – Les Echos detailed last month the third meeting program,  at the Department of Foreign Affairs with one reference : the CES show, the global stage for innovation of Las Vegas and its 51 editions, ” without making a fool of us, to become inescapable” explain Maxime Baffert, co-director of VivaTech.

 

VIVATECHNOLOGY, A JOURNEY TOWARDS THE FUTURE 

Contrary to the CES, dedicated to a professional public, VivaTech will welcome the large public during its third day proposing a trip towards the future. Indeed, the Hall of Tech will propose 3 thematics spaces of animations:

  • The TechPark : a spectacular exhibition space for all the latest robotic innovations. “The TechPark will welcome a dozen of innovative robots” announce Julie Ranty, co-director of VivaTech.
  • The VR Park : A 150m2 space designed to host exclusive VR immersive experiences and the latest virtual technologies.
  • The Mobility Park : the place where new mobility solutions are invented and experimented, from autonomous cars to flying taxis.
  • Every day on the main stage, a show to celebrate innovation in all its forms.

 

ZOOM IN THE INNOVATIONS OF THIS THIRD EDITION

Above this focus on the African market, VivaTech has some other things to present. The CEO Forum will see big partners of Vivatech, explain their strategies and transformations issues, Future Tech will be dedicated to emergents technologies such as quantum computing, and finally, the CMO Forum will permit to discover the emerging trends of marketing/ advertisements linked to the latest technological advances. News areas of demonstration to strengthen the spectacular and thriving dimension of the event. Otherwise, a hundred of challenges will permit to select 1000 startups in order to attract a more international audience.

Moreover, the 23 of May, the eve of the event, the president Emmanuel Macron will receive worldwide leaders of technology in the first Summit of “Paris Tech For Good”, in the way of how technology can and have to have a positive impact on citizen lives.
