Starting 2016, the Tailor Truck will travel across French roads in order to make us discover a brand new vision of tailoring, the one from Lylian & Johann.

With the creation of their first e-shop, the French brand is willing to change the consumers mindset by reinventing the basic tailoring principles and adapting them to the current trends. No more moving to the other side of the earth to tailor a suit, now the showroom comes to you !

 The professional life pushes a majority of men to wear every day the same suit.

 

Naturally inclined to visit readymade clothes stores, these gentlemen still have to do a long work of choices and fittings, and frequently pay to tailor the outfit more. Leading to ? Crowded places, stress, loss of time and pricey items…

 

How can we give to men the opportunity to enjoy a full quality service from a tailor, but close to their home ?

This is the question that raised TAILOR TRUCKS : the first truck that is also a tailoring boutique.

“More than satisfying our Parisian, time-saving customers, Tailor Trucks moves to meet the workers in companies all over the Grand Paris, for those that do not have the time or the will to shop and rely on the closest mall” tell Johann et Lylian, the two founders.

 

This project has not been easy to set up for the brand; this kind of services does not exist in France. However, they succeeded to get around difficulties by combining very attractive prizes and high-end quality,  with an area perfectly arranged thanks to an interior designer . “We have chosen to keep our home office in the 11th district of Paris and to base everything on the principle of mobile store, in order to meet customers but also to realize rents and expenses savings, and leasehold rights on clothing shop. “

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How does it exactly work?

The meeting, which lasts for 1h to 1h30, follows the same way than a traditional meeting in a shop.

Starting by an exchange with the customer around a coffee, a tea or even a whisky, it then comes to measures in the cabin room. Finally, the customer chooses its characteristics and details thanks to a book of textiles and look books

The suit truck becomes a cozy, on-wheel living room, in a British twist that is of the brand.

This 7 meters sprinter truck takes places for limited durations, in the Parisian suburbs or elsewhere. Every month, a new roadmap is announced to indicate the next dates and spots (the truck can also be booked for private events!)

 

The brand, with its quality-focused positioning, offers to customers a true unique experience, dealing with tailoring and masculine elegance, by turning every visit to a timeless, privileged discussion.

« We already have sold a few dozen suits and tailored shirts, with very positive feedbacks from the customers. In 90% cases, we do not need to do more touch up, and the quality experienced by customers is totally aligned with their expectancies. We also had numerous positive feedbacks concerning the quality of our advices, and the time we spent with every customer. To conclude, people enjoy the cozy touch of our shop, and even forget they are not in a traditional boutique», explains the founders.

 

Even if most of the customers have totally regular demands, 2 of them stayed in mind of the associates.

 « One did a flying shopping in our mobile boutique, to order 2 suits. Making his mind was very simple, he took the same models we were wearing that day! We took his measures, and in 30 minutes it was set up. For the second example, it starts from the opening of the shop door. We were both very surprised, the customer could have played in a NBA team! Fortunately, we didn’t experienced any troubles with the measures, but our suppliers were surprised by the numbers we communicated to them, they thought it was a keyboard mistake!

 

The brand offers 5 ranges of tailored suits, in Prices starts from 330€ for a 2 piece model, up to 1150€ for a 3 pieces model of the Luxe range.. « All our suits are made with high quality textile from Italy and England. The goal is to fight against ready-to-wear brands, from middle range to premium, which offers pricey items in regards of quality and service.” they explained.

 

 

 

 

On the FashionTech topic, we heard a lot about innovative textiles. This said, we often forgot that the FashionTech is also about the mutations of production, consumption and distribution of fashion brands. This concept make us wonder about the rise of fashion trucks, which are already everywhere in the USA, and should diversify by going upmarket, but also ensuring a tailor made confection. This is what this Tailor Truck is all about ! Answering a customer request that is more and more important, by mixing personalization, the expertise on tailoring, with innovative aspects every shop should investigate today. Tailor Truck understood it, and choosed to put the customer at the very core of their business development strategy. The only question answered is whether or not this alternative to the mass market will spread throughout France…
